About Us

Note from our chairperson

Welcome to the South-West Wexford School Completion Programme.

At the heart of our work is a commitment to every young person’s right to reach their full potential through education. We believe that every student regardless of their circumstances deserves the opportunity to succeed, to feel supported, and to thrive in their school community.

As Chairperson, I am proud to work alongside a dedicated team who bring empathy, expertise, and commitment, to the students and families we serve.

Our work is strengthened through collaboration with families, participating schools, TESS partners and other local agencies.

Warm regards

overview of the project

The School Completion Programme (SCP) is a targeted educational initiative working in primary and secondary schools, funded by the Department of Education and Youth's
'Delivering Equality of Opportunity in Schools' (DEIS) strategy.

It aims to:

Prevent early school leaving
Support students at risk of disengaging from education
Improve attendance, participation, and retention in school.

SCP is managed by Tusla Education Support Services (TESS).
SCP works closely with the other two strands of TESS, the Home School Community Liaison(HSCL) Scheme, and the Statutory Education Welfare Service.

SCP provides supports to students in-school and after-school.
It also provides an outreach service to young people who have a prolonged absence from school, to help them re-engage in school,
or progress to alternative education or training.
